yahoo wants to buy tumblr so i’m making an early prediction as to what would happen if this were to take place
so this is their plan after losing geocities.
most likely they’ll uselessly dick around at headquarters and then end up doing nothing with it and closing the site because yahoo sucks at managing shit
so hopefully they won’t buy tumblr

I assume you’ve already seen this, but just in case you haven’t, they have this series of mildly passive aggressive politeness reminders on the trains in Japan. This one reads “your seat should only be as wide as your bottom, not the width of your spread legs.” Words to live by.

A+ Japan
Urgent memo to all men riding buses, trains, and in all public seating areas: “Your seat should only be as wide as your bottom, not the width of your spread legs.”
My eye caught a dark form lying on the river bottom. It took me a few moments to comprehend what I had stumbled upon. Lying peacefully in the shallow waters of the river, only a few meters from shore, was a full-grown cougar. The contrast between the serenity of the scene I was witnessing and what must have played out here in the cougar’s final moments made me shiver. It was the first shiver of many, as I stripped down and waded out into the icy water to get this shot. x
they say that humans
are meant to be nomads
because babies sleep best
when they’re rocked
at walking pacei don’t know if that’s right
but sometimes i get that feeling
that if right now
i put on my sneakers
and walked out the door
i could go forever

When then-14-year-old Gina Celaya killed the man who tried to rape her, the state of Arizona sentenced her to life in prison.
Today — after twenty years in prison, and almost as many years of legal battles fought from state courts up to the federal court of appeals — Gina is finally free.
That’s the American “justice system” for you. Serving up injustice to poor people, people of color, and women, since 1776 … She has served more years in jail than the number of years she had been on this Earth at the time of her supposed “crime.”
Meanwhile, actual murderers and rapists walk around freely if they wear a police badge or serve in the U.S. military. There are no words for how much I fucking hate this country.
There is no justice system.
I hope no one ever interferes with her life again.
